    I don't count calories on Carnivore and it isn't low calorie because you eat Fatty Beef and Fatty Lamb. And there are Carnivores that have been doing it for years with no consequences. When you are eating carbs you always have a possible misfortune of overeating them. I have super energy when I lift weights on Carnivore. Being 68 I worked out for 3 to 4 hours a day five times a week. You missed the point because carbs can cause inflammation and insulin resistance that cause disease. Especially in older people.

    Well its common sense isnt it? Easiest fat accessible is butter. Dont have to kill the cow either. Next would be rendered fat from animal meats. Olive oil is old as time so thats probably ok. Sesame oil? But broad acre monoculture crushed seeds oils is a stretch.

    This is rapidly becoming the province of the privileged. While the food enviromnent is run for the benefit of business, and processes/labelling are obfuscatory, this all requires educational/intellectual/financial resources that the majority of folks in our communities just dont have. And dont get me started on 'find a functional doc/naturaopath', 'get extensive/expensive testing', 'do your own research', 'just buy my product/course' ...

    I feel amazing that a lot of these lifestyle principles are ingrained in Islam. Early sleep, eating only until you are 1/3 full, taking a light nap after lunch, fasting (2 days per week + 3 days per month + 1 month per year), looking at rising sun, walking through greenery, prayer 5 times a day, keeping family relationships alive.

    What does Bart think about this trend (likely gaining steam by Peter Attia) of vo2 max training? Peter recommends doing a HIIT session once per week where the heart rate is hitting zone 5 (I think Peter does 4 minutes on at zone 5, 4 minutes rest, & repeats that 4 times in this once a week workout)

      @@Szilvia_Szilvia can you show me the evidence that suggests carbs are detrimental for the human body? Please be careful not to become too brainwashed. That is going to be far more detrimental in the long run. The ‘type’ ‘volume’ and ‘frequency’ of the carb is the detrimental aspect but this is NOT the same as saying the carbohydrates are problematic. You need context. If carbs were so unimportant, why did the body adapt a complete mechanism of turning protein in to glucose??

      EVERY SINGLE carbohydrate is broken down by your body into glucose, fructose & galactose. There're no such thing as different "types", the exact frequency & volume you need to INGEST is zero, exactly (pun intended) 'cos the body can and will synthetize glucose itself, if need and just a little too much is already detrimental. Just because it doesn't ki11 you today, it doesn't mean it's good for you.

    I've been saying this about vegetable oil for years, nobody believed me. And if there was a single reason for dying, it would be fairly easy to mitigate. But it's not. "Natural" life span is as long as it takes the weakest link cell to divide about 50 times. Usually the skin is the first to go due to all sorts of exposure (which is very evident in old people). This video shouldn't be two hours long.

    So much product led misinformation. Prove me wrong.. wheres the studies showing gently frying an egg in olive oil at 180C or below is "harmful" because olive oil? What he's selling is snake oil, its solving a problem he invented to push product. Where's the olive oil study? It doesn't exist. Obviously don't heat oils too high for too long. Or use an oven or sous vide.

I’m amazing… god led me there. my whole talk was an advert (supplemental shoved in camera but I’m not selling it!)     Thank you for helping me understand what is going on with me. I am trying to explain to my DOCTOR that I believe I am insulin resistant. I have been exhausted, a lot of pain in my left hip. Brain Fog etc. I am 73 years old. I told my Dr to check my heart. I have been cutting down on seed oils for about 9 months. My doctor said I had a fatty liver. On my own I did intermittent fasting for 6 months, had my blood tested, and my Dr said I didn’t have fatty liver. I was feeling great, then I was very stressed out, and went back to bad eating. I have been very exhausted. I am having my heart checked. I am trying to have my doctor check for insulin resistance.

    All you should be trying for is as little carbs as possible. I can usually eat 40g of carbs without switching to carb mode. If you exercise everyday, and eat, and then start walking on the treadmill, and after 30mins or so, your legs start to feel like noodles, well, that means you were in carb mode, and you just ran out of carbs. You'll have to wait till you body recovers, and switches back to fat burning mode. I hear you can push through it if you keep exercising, but honestly, it's not a good feeling. If your trying to lose fat, then your goal is to spike your insulin as little as possible. Insulin turns off fat burning, and turns on fat storage. It's the reason why CICO is so hard to lose weight doing, because you have to starve your body, to force your body to pull fat out of storage to make up of the energy deficit, but eventually, your body will adapt, and that stops working. On Carnivore, you're in fat burning mode all day for the most part. if you eat a bunch of protein at one time, you could spike your insulin, Which could kick you out of fat burning mode, but I don't think it's for very long, and you'll go back to fat burning. The body gets more Efficient over time, and can switch back and forth much faster the more experience it gets from doing it. CiCO, you're constantly spiking your insulin, and you literally could be turning off your ability to burn fat all day long. Many people say, that exercise doesn't really burn many calories. It's true, because the carbs block your ability to burn fat, and it takes a long time to burn through a high carb diet. Carnivore, you're in fat burning mode all day, for the most part. So your every movement is burning fat for energy. So when you exercise, it actually means something, because you don't have to burn through the carbs to get to the fat, you just start burning fat at a higher rate. It's also the reason why you can eat a lot more on carnivore, because you're actually burning fat all day. You aren't depending on starving your body to lose fat. Also, why it's important not to under eat on carnivore, because you are burning a lot more calories vs CICO, and you don't want you body to adapt to lower calorie intake.

    Great talk! Sodium (40% of salt) restriction actually increases insulin resistance. Super important caveat since many diabetics are over restricting salt and actually making their diabetes worse. I could work beside either of you … any/every day of the year! 🤗 (( 💖 ))

    I was in agreement with what she was saying all the way up until she started to say eating beans, peas, and corn is good. Those foods (beans/legumes/seeds) are not good for gut health and are usually soaked in glyphosate.

    What about dietary fat intake ?? How does it affect insulin resistance?? I hear some people say this can overload the cells and lead to diabetes also ?? Is this true

    I am now nearly 80 years old and have been eating harmful seed oils all my life until just recently. Now I only use avocado and olive oil. Why am I living to be 80 I should have died long ago. Please explain.

    This may all be true, but this was a piss poor explanation. At no point did it actually explain a mechanism for the damage. Oxygen is not a "compound". Free radicals are not "high energy", whatever that means. They *are* reactive, so say that, and explain which things their reactivity damages. And what is "oxidative stress"? Repeating the term is not an explanation. And what is a "vegetable" oil? Yes, that is a marketing term, but no one is selling kale oil, they are selling seed oils, so say that. And is she lumping in olive oil, which is the oil from the fruit and not the seed? What is nut oil as compared to cotton seed oil? This could have been condensed to 5 minutes, but I guess it doesn't get monetized the same. Again, seed oils may be very bad (probably are), but this isn't explanatory at all. Bleah.
